As part Phoenix Insurance Brokers' ongoing commitment to supporting the community, we’ll be taking part in this year’s ‘Bloody Long Walk’, a 35km charity walk from South Perth to Cottesloe to raise funds for research into Mitochondrial disease.
‘Mito’, an inherited chronic illness that can be present at birth or develop later in life, causes debilitating physical, developmental and cognitive disabilities. More than 120,000 Aussies may carry the genetic mutation that puts them at risk of developing the disease, the second most common genetic disease in Australia. Little is known about it and therefore funds for research into its causes are desperately needed.
Phoenix has two teams - a total of 8 staff - registered in the event, which takes place on Sunday 23 September. Should any of our wonderful clients like to get behind us and donate, we’d really welcome your support however big or small.
The Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation's (AMDF) goal is to raise $140,000. To support us and Australians living with mitochondrial disease, please click here to go to our Bloody Long Walk 'EverydayHero’ fundraising page.
Your support really WILL change lives.
